SET lays multi-purpose vessel "NB 215" on keel

On June 1, 2023, the keel-laying ceremony for the new ship "NB 215", which was commissioned by the Niedersächsischen Landesbetrieb für Wasserwirtschaft, Küsten- und Naturschutz (NLWKN), took place at the shipyard of SET Schiffbau- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft in Tangermünde.

It is a 40 meter long and 9.5 meter wide multi-purpose vessel for pollution spill response and for research and water monitoring tasks.

Thanks to the partnership-based acquisition of the coastal states, the ship will not only operate in Niedersachsen, but also in Bremen, Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Hamburg if required.

The newly built vessel will be equipped with special equipment for marine surveying, water monitoring and studies of the biology and morphology of the North Sea.

The handover of the craft will take place next year.
